Pencil Picasso

The other day Sloane and Reese made crayon and watercolor flowers. Quinn couldn’t stand missing out so we set her up with some colored pencils and she got to work! Her Edward Scissor Hand Pencil approach was interesting and she came up with a great little piece of art. Silly girl!

Who’s Counting?

We celebrated Greg’s Birthday last week and I think the kids were more excited for his birthday than their own. They specifically requested a bundt cake with shamrocks on top, you know, for “March”. The kids also took most of the photos, sang Happy Birthday and helped to blow out the candles. Having kids sure [...]

Wheee!

This will be Quinn’s first year to really take part in playing at the playground. It looks like she’s more than ready!

Mad Hatter

Quinn has recently discovered where we keep all the hats and is completely crazy about wearing them throughout the day. She thinks she is quite a funny girl and looks forward to our reaction to the hat she’s chosen. Check her out!

Photo Frenzy!

As promised, below are the photos from the last 3 months that we’ve neglected to post in a timely manner. Hopefully you are reading this when you have some time on your hands! Looking back, it seems that 2012 has kept us pretty busy, even if it is only March. Here is a short recap [...]

Star Spangled Spring

Well, it’s mid March, the second day of spring and we are setting a record with 85 degree temperatures in Chicago. It’s beautiful and we are enjoying the very warm start to the season. Clearly our girls are ready for summertime. Here is their rendition of The Star Spangled Banner.

Little Kicker

Sloane tried out a free indoor soccer class in January (Reese and Quinn got in on the action too). You can tell by her boots and skirt that is was completely unplanned, but she had a great time and has been begging to take soccer lessons since. Thankfully there are a lot of options in [...]

Girls

Just a few recent pictures of our “crew!” Sloane and Reese are inseparable and Quinn is developing quite the personality!

Sweethearts

Over the next week we’ll be catching up on some long overdue posts for the ave, beginning with Valentine’s Day! The girls did a lot of fun math activities using conversation hearts. They practiced measurement, counting, graphing, probability, estimation and addition. They did a great job and learned a lot, although I’m sure their favorite [...]

Le chef Sloane et Reese

A few weeks ago I pulled a bunch of cooking ingredients out of our pantry and let the girls concoct a recipe of their own. They used everything from parsley to green jell-o powder, red hots to powdered sugar and even oatmeal, salt, eggs flour and water. They spent a lot of time experimenting, checking [...]
