With Good Reason

OK, I’m still slacking on my “once-a-month” standard, but with good reason this time. While the job search wrecked havoc with a normal schedule, there’s nothing like a job offer to really make things crazy. I accepted a Senior Designer position in early October and have spent the last week or so preparing for the new job and getting the fam settled in the area. Although we’ve been in northern Virginia throughout the summer, based on our responses from the job search, we had no idea where we might end up. However, we are stoked to be staying in the area. The job is west of DC, which helps with housing options and makes for some more desirable scenery. We also have the luxury of staying with my family while we look for the right place to settle. Until then, we’ll trade our storage unit in South Bend for a local one and fight the lines at the DMV. Fun.
Our little one is growing like a weed! We see more of her personality every day, which is the best part, in my opinion. We’re also seeing more of her every night, since her teething is out of control! Not the best part, in my opinion. We’re dying for those first few teeth to show up.
She loves scooting around in her walker and just hanging out with her toys. Under Olivia’s watchful eye, of course. She hasn’t started crawling, and as odd as it may sound, she may skip it altogether for the walking thing. We’ve heard of similar development through some parenting resources, as well as friends of ours. We’re actually encouraging the crawling, but Sloane is so pleased with her ability to roll from her stomach to her back, it’s not taking too well. Suzi will continue to stay at home with Sloane while I head back to work, so maybe we’ll see progress in that area. We’re not holding our breath!
Enjoy the pics. We’re hoping a more normal schedule is around the corner, with a more regular posting habit! Hope everyone is well…
