The Ave. has moved to Northern Virginia! With graduation complete, our lease ending on the 31st of May, and Suzi wrapping up her teaching, it was time to head out of town. We spent the last week or two packing and filling a storage unit in South Bend, with help from my Mom and Eric the last few days, and made the drive to Vienna on Friday the 1st. Mom and Dad have prepared a very comfortable spot for Suzi, Sloane, and I while we transition to whatever comes next. Suzi is thrilled to be spending more time with Sloane and I’m now focused on the job search full-time.
I mentioned our recent events in the last post and have some pictures of the festivities. First, we had Sloane baptized on Mother’s Day at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart on campus. Our small, intimate ceremony was fantastic and the setting was amazing. My buddy Kyle took some great pics. A big “word-up” to him. We were fortunate to have most of my family in town. Jeff and Elizabeth could not make it, as Jeff is busting his hump at an intensive 3 1/2 month training school in the Las Vegas desert. He is one of the younger guys out there and although there is a healthy wash-out rate, he’s excelling amidst 14 hour work days. Hmmm, kinda sounds like my old man right now… We’re anxious to visit with Jeff and Elizabeth in August.
The next weekend was Notre Dame’s graduation. The University decided to hold the Graduate School ceremony separate from the undergraduates for the first time. This shortened things by a few hours and moved the service to the new DeBartolo Performing Arts Center. It was a beautiful setting and very well done (Even though the president of our football arch-rival, Michigan, gave the commencement speech. I booed. Kidding). Matt, Mom, and Dad were in town and Matt saved the day when we showed up and realized that I was missing the hood for my gown, 10 minutes to showtime. He covered the distance to the bookstore and back in what I’m convinced is a record. Word-up to Matt.
OK. Check out the pictures in separate galleries. Hope everyone is doing well.

Hi Suzi and Greg and Sloane,
I haven’t forgotten you just waiting for an update address so I can send something for Sloane.
She is absolutely beautiful. You all look like the “Perfect Family”. The picture of her alone smiling so big looks so like your smile, Suzi. I sure would love to hold her.
To update you on us, Jeff (Jerie’s husband) was critically injured in a motorcycle accident on April 29th. He was so close to death that they flew him from the scene to the trauma center in a helicopter. He is recovering nicely. You can see his picture of him standing for the first time on June 13th on his website at WQBE.com. Scroll to the bottom of the home page and click on Jeff Jeffries.
My Dad also had a stroke on April 26th and is not expected to be with us much longer.
Everyone else is okay at the present time. Autumn and I are going to Ireland on Saturday for a 9day tour. We have had this planned for about 5yrs. and my family understands if something should happen to my Dad while I’m gone. I’m planning to drive to Michigan when I get back.
How is the job hunting going? Good luck and I hope you find a nice area to move to.
I really enjoy your website. I wished I was that talented to be able to communicate that way. Of course mine would be boring.
Tell your folks I said Hi, Suzi.
Thanks for sharing your pictures with all of us.
Do you have an address?
Love,
Jan
