Spring Prep

It’s the first day of spring and a chilly 39 degrees here. It’s funny, last week we were in the 50′s and even 60′s at times and then the weekend comes and we drop to colder temps again! Either way, we are on the upswing towards spring and the girls are thrilled.

With the warmer temps last week, the girls and I managed to have a picnic at the park, go for lots of walks and ride bikes nearly every afternoon. It was so nice to get out and enjoy some fresh air without having to bundle up in layers. We’re looking forward to the months ahead when we can get out and about whenever possible!

At the end of February we celebrated Sloane’s 3rd Birthday! It’s so hard to believe she’s THREE! We had a pretty low-key day with family activities planned together, a few gifts and of course, cake. When we asked Sloane what she really wanted to do on her special day and she requested… THE CLAW! What is the claw you ask, well, it’s the rip off “game” you can find at the front of every grocery store in the US. Sloane has been asking to play the claw machine for months, and months ago I replied to her requests (without really thinking), “you can try it when you’re 3.” Well, much to my surprise, she did not forget! So, off we went to the grocery store on Sloane’s birthday and spent $6 on the CLAW, and the poor birthday girl walked away with nothing. After explaining to her that it’s a difficult game and not everyone wins, she declared that the claw must need some batteries! We agreed.

Beyond the excitement of the claw, Sloane got a new red 2-wheeler bike and a bright yellow vacuum. Both were a hit and have gotten a lot of use over the past few weeks. Sloane has passed her Radio flyer tricycle on to Reese and the girls are having a blast riding bikes together in the driveway on nice days. They are definitely two peas in a pod these days.

Enjoy the beginning of spring and we’ll be back in a few weeks with new photos and the latest on the Anderson’s!
