Another Round of Heavy on the Pictures

Hi there!
So Greg and I are fresh off a date night and ready to get back to blogging! OK, seriously; so last night was the first time that we’ve been out by ourselves since, well, probably before Sloane was born. We had a great time at a movie and getting dessert afterwards, but there’s much more to the last few weeks than that.
For those of you that like looking at the pictures we add, you are sure in luck this month because there are a lot! I’ve included professional pictures of the girls that were taken back in March. Sloane had just turned 2 and Reese was a little over 7 months. They had fun smiling and goofing for the photographer.
Time seems to pass more quickly by the week. Easter came and went way too fast. Sloane participated in 2 Easter egg hunts and did a great job “hunting.” Her first was with our playgroup. When Sloane found an egg, she would open it, dump the candy into her basket and then move on to find more goodies. The second hunt was courtesy of Grandma and Popi, who were in town helping with some home reno. Sloane enjoyed leading Popi around to look for eggs. She found everyone of them and, of course, couldn’t wait to get to the goodies inside!
Last week, Sloane started gymnastics. At this age, her class isn’t terribly structured, but more about exploration. She goes once a week and is really in to the trampoline run and the rings. She’s not yet wild about the balance beam, but she has tried it once or twice. The class should be really good for her.
Reese is still such a sweet, sweet girl! She (like her big sis) is not at all interested in crawling. She’s content to sit and play or stand with help. I’m expecting her to skip the crawling all together and just walk when she’s ready. I noticed yesterday that she has her very first tooth trying to peak through, too. I can feel the sharp edge pushing through her gums, but it doesn’t seem to be bothering her at this point. Another new thing with Reese is that she seems to be balking at baby food lately. Although she eats table food, I still have to supplement with jar food because of her lack of teeth. Hopefully her new teeth will allow her to eat a bigger variety of table foods.
The newest adventure we’ve taken was to the Grand Rapids Children’s Museum. It was perfect for Sloane’s age and she (and Greg) enjoyed exploring all that there was to do. Reese and I were in charge of the camera and captured some good pictures. Reese and I even managed to get into a few shots ourselves! Check them out in the photos section!
Thanks for checking in on the fam!
