Holiday Happenings

The month of December sure did keep us on our toes! Between packing for our big move, closing on our new house, making the drive to South Bend (more than once) and keeping up with our active girls, we did manage to find some time to relax and enjoy family and friends over the holidays. Jeff & Elizabeth and Matt & Julie made it to town for the holidays. We missed Jenn, Eric and Fiona, but enjoyed web chatting with them in lieu of their absence. It was nice seeing everyone and catching up. Especially since everyone is spread across the U.S. now.

Christmas morning proved to be exciting with 2 little ones. Sloane really got the hang of opening presents and scored big with a new tricycle, sled, tool box and rocket ship (Little Einsteins) toy. Reese was napping during the festivities, but managed to find her way downstairs (well-rested) and ready to see what Santa brought her for being such a good little girl! She really liked her new soft books and crib toys. She was also outfitted with a stylish vest, hat and gloves for winter. It was a beautiful morning and we were thankful to have a healthy family to share it with.

We were fortunate that everyone could come together a few days after Christmas for Reese’s baptism. My family and Greg’s got together for brunch and the baptism. It was a lovely ceremony at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Gainesville. Jeff and Elizabeth served as Godparents and everything went off without a hitch. How lucky we are to have had family close by for this special time.

Well, that just about does it for our holiday adventures! Be sure to check out the photos to see some additional fun; including Aunt Julie teaching Sloane how to use the sewing machine to make a quilt. We’re hoping she paid enough attention to be able to crank out some quilts as next years Christmas gifts! There are also some great pics of Reese hamming it up with that great big smile! She’s hilarious and getting quite the personality. Just don’t make her wait for her food…yikes, things can really get ugly!

As always, thanks for checking in on us Anderson’s! We’ll be back soon with new info. on our house and new start (sort of) back in South Bend!
